“Promotional Packaging to represent
an Emerging Creative”
Jade Klara is an Illustrator and Product Designer. I had a personal interview with her at the 2013 Design Indaba where she entered as an Emerging Creative, one of the questions in the interview was “If she had to be packaged, what would the package be?” She responded by saying, “A milk Carton.”
She is also a collector of old classic books, and she saves her extra pennies to buy them. Thus the concept of a piggy bank in the shape of a milk carton arose. It is somewhat based on the saying “Milking Money”.
The design approach is a self written poem that flows in a milk path to explain all the attributes of Jade in a fun and creative way. The name on the package “Hold Tight Jadie” is the best advise she has ever received and she lives by it.

I love with all my soul.
An illustrator so sweet and true
An imagination so fresh and so new.
Her sweet and comforting style,
will have you staring for a while.
She explores the space between happy and blue,
which is why her work is so natural and true.
She is a collector of old classical books,
which I help her obtain.
No matter how her budget looks,
she fills me up again and again.
